   Julia Alexandra Acquaah, MHCIMA, Vice Chairperson

     Articulate and deeply involved in bettering people’s lives, Julia was educated in Ghana and England, with diplomas in institutional catering, from hospitals to hotels.  Her educational background includes the University of North London in London, Endland, where she was awarded diplomas in Hotel and Catering Institutional Management.  At the Belfast College of Technology in North Ireland, Domestic Economy Department, Julia achieved the Institutional Catering (Hospital) diploma.  The North Polytechnic Institute in London awarded Julia the Domestic Science, National Council of Domestic Studies diploma.   Julia also attended Fijai Secondary School and Sekondi Methodist Girls School, both in Accra. 

      She started out as the Catering Officer in charge of the meals on wheels program for the public and the following departments:  Ministry of Food and Nutrition, Food Center (Arts Council), National Lotteries, Geological Survey, and Lands Department & Ministries Canteen.  Starting as Trainee Catering Officer at Belfast City Hospital, Julia has held many distinguished posts in her illustrious career.  After 37 years in the Ghanaian civil service, Julia retired as Chief Catering Officer, Ministry of Health, Nutrition Division, Accra, where she was Advisor on Policy Matters Relating to Food Management Programs.   Prior to that, Julia was Principal Catering Officer at both Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, managing a 1,500-bed hospital, and AR Psychiatric Hospital in Accra, managing a 2,000-bed institution.   Julia was Founding Member in reorganizing the catering unit and establishing other innovations when she was Technical Advisor on Food Management Programs in Accra. 

     Always active in civic life, Julia has been Secretary of the Ghana Chapter, HCIMA, from 1998-2000, then Vice Chairperson from 2000 to the present.  Her hobbies include listening to spiritual, classical and jazz music.  She also enjoys reading, counseling and giving talks on nutrition and food management to various groups, including churches and students.   A fan of football/soccer, Julia loves watching the games.   Married to a retired attorney, Julia has three children, one adopted child, seven step-children and seven step-grandchildren.


    Louis Aboagye-Donkor, instooled as Nana Amaning Opintang II, Public Relations Officer 

       Instooled as Krontinene or Chief at Akim Anyinase, Louis/Nana Amaning is committed to the betterment of his village.  A journalist and public relations/advertising consultant, Nana Amaning/Louis attended the Ghana Institute of Journalism.  Highly educated and a leader, Louis/Nana Amaning has taken courses at the Management Development and Productivity Institute (MDPI) as well as the Institute of Public Relations (IPR), both in Accra.   His courses at the Federation of Africa Public Relations Association (FAFRA) enhanced his ability in public relations regarding managing change in Africa. 

     The Administrative Secretary at the Association of Road Contractors (ASROC) in Ghana, Nana Amaning/Louis has also been the Secretary General at the Labour-Based Contractors Association (LABCA).   Previously he was the Administrative Officer at the IPR, asa well as the Assistant Public Relations Officer at the Ghana National Commission on Children (GNCC), as well as many other distinguished posts.  He is Executive Council Member of the International Club of Journalists for Children’s Rights (ICJCR).  His hobbies include soccer/football, reading, music and assisting people in need.  Married with three children, Nana Amaning/Louis also has two adopted children. 

    Helena Danso Ayensu, Member

     A Trader, Helena was educated at Tafo Girls School.  Married with three children, Helena also has three foster children.   Her hobbies include spiritual music, dancing and watching football/soccer.

   Faustina Ntow, Member

    A Seamstress, Faustina was educated at Coaltal R.C. Middle School (M.S.L.C.), and enjoys traditional and spiritual music, cooking, dancing and traveling.  Married with two children, Faustina also has two foster children.

    Comfort Adjei, Member

     A Trader, Faustina is self educated.  She is married with two children, two grand-children, and three foster children.

    Ohenewaah Okrah, Member

     Ohenewaah is a Manufacturer with a GCE A’ Level education.
